1.1. Barbarian tribes

1.1.1. consisted of mostly Gauls and some other tribes, they were numerous, occupied most of Europe and a part of UK. Most Roman emperors and generals deemed it not worth to conquer their teritorry due to the low profit

1.2.1. The huns under the leadership of Attila and Bleda forced rome to sign a treaty that the romans breached in 440, Romans were defeated.

1.3. Revolts

1.3.1. the most famous revolt was when the gladiator Spartacus and his fellow slaves rebelled against the Romans, they were all crucified.

2.1. Germanicus Julius Caesar

2.1.1. Defeated Arminius and recovered 2 of the 3 lost eagles

2.2. Scipio Africanus

2.2.1. Defeated Hannibal,Cleopatra and saved Rome

2.3. Gaius Julius Caesar

2.3.1. battled the Gaul tribes and strengthened Romes legions

3.1.1. the overall Legionary commander, was appointed by the emperor and served between 3 to 4 years.

3.2.1. through most of them were inexperienced they were the second in command appointed by either the senate or emperor.

3.3.1. the backbone of the army, there were 59-60 of them,were responsible for many things

4.1. reinforcements

4.1.1. the most important of an army is the replenishment of dead soldiers and workers. in order to be enlisted they had to complete three exams, namely the physical,intellectual and regal in order to prove they are citizens.

4.2. weapons

4.2.1. the recruits first trained with wooden weapons twice the weight of the real ones in order to develop endurance.

4.2.2. the standard weapons were two javelins, a sword and a dagger. if they were required to have a shiel their most popular choice was the scutum.

4.3. armor

4.3.1. they wore standard leather armor with steel/iron outer part, helmets, shin guards and ´´military skirts´´. boots were only wore by higher ranked soldiers. there were also she scaled armor and uncommon plated armor.

4.4.1. carried by the army

4.4.1.1. a soldier was expected to carry around one weeks worth of food. there were also baggage trains that acried between 3-4 weeks wort of food.

4.4.2. foraging, requisition, pillaging

4.4.2.1. they mostly relied on foraging but when that wasnt enough they tended to either trade with the locals or massacre them and steal their stored food.
