1. ORGANISM
1.1. an individual living thing
2. POPULATION
2.1. a group of the same species/organisms living together in the same area
3. COMMUNITY
3.1. a group of different populations (species) coexisting together in one area
4. ECOSYSTEM
4.1. all the organisms, including the nonliving things in a given area
4.1.1. includes: climate, soil, water, rocks
4.2. Organisms + Environment
4.3. **HABITATS**
4.3.1. a natural environment in which an organism lives in
4.3.2. made up of a variety of factors that interact with each other
4.3.2.1. *Abiotic factors:* non living components of an environment
4.3.2.1.1. include: water, temperature, PH levels and salinity
4.3.2.2. *Biotic factors:* living components of an environment
4.3.2.2.1. include: bacteria, fungi, plants and animals
5. BIOME
5.1. a global community of organisms that live together based on characteristics of climate conditions and the plant communities that thrive in the area
5.1.1. include: desert, deciduous forests, tropical rainforests, grasslands, coniferous forests, tundra and the ocean
